The Wedding Marathon!

9 Weddings in 9 Days!

It’s more than we have ever even attempted in past years, but this year, from Thursday 26th May through until Friday 3rd June, we completed 9 Weddings in 9 days! Here’s a rundown day by day of each of the Weddings:

Day 1 – Jackie & Denis’ Wedding Day – We started out with Jackie & Denis’ Catholic Church ceremony at Inmaculada Concepcion Church in Arroyo de la Miel. It was Fr. Emilio’s first ceremony in English, and he did a fantastic job! Jackie’s dress was stunning, and the whole group lovely to work with. After the ceremony we then headed back to Sunset Beach Club‘s Sala Malaga for the reception.

Day 2 – Natalia & Kevin’s Wedding Day – An early start for a 1pm ceremony, again in Church, but this time at Cristo Resucitado in Torremolinos. A lovely ceremony with Fr. Juan, after which we headed back for drinks reception on the promenade at Sunset Beach Club, and some very good fun with the balloons. The dinner and evening reception took place at Sala Malaga, where the very friendly guests, even offered me a dance!

Day 3 – Mercedes and Dean’s Wedding Day – Ceremony again at Cristo Resucitado, but Today in “Spanglish” with the bride being Spanish and groom English, it made for a nice change and a very touching service. It was a great experience to see the mix of the two cultures coming together for such a special occassion. After drinks reception at Salitos Bar, the evening reception then took place at Luna Beach Club.

Day 4 – Zalie and Jack’s Wedding Day – As Jack went to School with me, this Wedding was a little more personal, as I also knew some of the guests. It was a very chilled out and unique day, with lots of special touches including “homemade” 4ft Z & J letters! The ceremony was at Sunset Beach Club and reception afterwards at Luna Beach, Benalmadena.

Day 5 – Louise & Mark’s Wedding Day – a small and intimate ceremony on Sunset Beach Club promenade, which quickly became a very emotional affair. After an hour of drinks in the sunshine, we then headed upstairs for reception at Sunset Beach Club‘s Sala Malaga.

Day 6 – Kayleigh & Ross’s Wedding Day – The couple that I’d never met! Kayleigh and Ross took a huge leap of faith on their Wedding day – They booked us as their planner, Sunset Beach Club for their ceremony and Luna Beach Club for the reception, without having seen any of the three in real life! Another small but very enjoyable Wedding to have been a part of.

Day 7 – Hannah & Anthony’s Wedding Day – The sun shone bright for this Wedding and after the seafront ceremony at Sunset Beach Club, the drinks reception then well and truly got the party started. With music by Amanda Rosa, the guests just couldn’t sit down, there was dancing of all ages taking place on the promenade for this one! We had to take Amanda’s microphone away to move the group inside for dinner in Sala Malaga, followed by some more dancing with Mr Ian Preston!

Day 8 – Martina & Joe’s Wedding Day – You’d think we’d be getting tired by now, but no, we were spurred to the finish line on by another lovely couple! Martina and Joe tied the knot at Cristo Resucitado Church with just their close family and friends before heading back to a relaxed beach reception at Luna Beach Club. The group were so welcoming, we didn’t want to leave, but we knew we best get some rest before the grand finale!

Day 9 – Deborah & Daniel’s Wedding Day – And we made it! For our last day we had a complete change of scenery and headed inline just a few minutes to La Cala Golf Resort. With a romantic blessing in the scenic gardens, Deborah and Daniel married, before heading to the Clubhouse for drinks reception and dinner.

I’m not going to lie, it was not the easiest 9 days of my life, and three days on I’m still struggling from “Wedding Lag” – With nightmares of forgotten candles and torn Wedding dresses, but it was most definitely worth every minute of it. I can honestly say, each of these nine couples were absolutely lovely people, and it is a total pleasure to have had the opportunity to be a part of their special day(s)!
