A rather personal post…
After nearly 7 years as a Wedding vendor, it looks like the tables have finally turned and it’s finally time for this Wedding Planner to become the bride!
Last Wednesday my gorgeous boyfriend of 3 years, took me out for a beautiful dinner to celebrate our 3 year anniversary together in Marbella. He did seem awfully excited about the night, buying a new shirt and a new dress for me, arranging for a friend to drive us so that we could enjoy the vino, but after a very hectic start to the Wedding season I didn’t think too much of it and was just looking forward to a relaxing evening together.
I’m not going to lie, when we arrived at the restaurant, I did begin to expect that there was something going on, my boyfriend could barely keep a straight face and couldn’t stop fidgetting. After hurridly eating his starter my boyfriend decided that he couldn’t contain his excitement any longer and explained that he had a surprise, to which I looked down and saw him on one knee beside me.
We then decided to go for a celebratory drink to one of our favourite bars and that is where the surprise truly took shape, as I walked in the room was filled with our family and closest friends who had gathered to celebrate with us. I’m still in shock now that my “fiance” managed to plan a surprise like that, as up until then even restaurant reservations have been left to me! The whole evening was incredible and one of the best nights of my life, I wish we could all re-live it.
As a Wedding planner, I don’t care what anyone says, it’s very hard not to already had thoughts and plans about your own Wedding day. Of course, being a part of 30-60 Weddings a year is bound to give you a little bit of inspiration to say the least. I am just thrilled that now I can plan and organize my own Wedding without sounding like an obsessed girlfriend! I can now become an obsessed fiancee!
The biggest issue is going to be finding a date when I’ve not already booked in someone else’s Wedding, so at this stage it’s looking like sometime late 2015, but I will be sure to keep you all posted along the way!
